A network of digital twins to model and track natural, biological and synthetic resources such as CO2, food items, textiles and plastics are essential to unlock the benefits of a sustainable, circular economy. Governance of those data needs to be decentralized if not only collaborators, but also competitors in an entire economy are to participate in it. This may facilitate the drastic transition to a green economy that is necessary to fight off climate change. How to effectively channel the massive funds already pledged into green investments, efficiently and without greenwashing, is a major challenge.
